Joining the PEW PTO provides many benefits for parents, students, and teachers. The annual membership fee is $10 per family, which helps us raise money to support and enrich the education of students at Phyllis E. Williams. Below are a few more benefits of becoming a member:
VOICE - Vote on key operational and financial decisions in meetings, and provide input on sponsored events. LEADERSHIP - Become a board member, or volunteer to plan and execute fun events on behalf of the organization. INFORMATION - Get the latest updates on school news, upcoming PTO events, and immersion programs. COMMUNITY - Meet and share experiences with school administrators and other families that attend the school. CONNECTION - Get a deeper, more intimate understanding of your child's unique early learning experiences.
There are two ways to sign up. You can sign up now by filling out the online form and paying the member fee electronically with our Cash App. Or, you can print and complete a downloadable version of the membership form. Completed forms and payment should be given to a PTO board member in person, or placed in our mailbox at the school front office. Online Sign Up
Please follow these steps to sign up online: 1. Complete the online form below. 2. When you submit your form, you will be automatically redirected to a confirmation page. The confirmation page will include a link to our Cash App, where you can make your $10 payment with a Debit Card. 3. To ensure that you receive credit for the payment, add your name to the "optional note" field at the bottom of the Cash App page. Additional processing and transaction fees may apply. 4. Once your online payment is received, you are officially a member of the PTO.
In-Person and Mail Sign Up
Please follow these steps to sign up in-person or by mail: 1. Click here to download the membership form. 2. Print and complete the membership form. 3. Choose a payment method. Cash and checks are accepted. Make checks payable to "PEW PTO". 4. Give the membership form and the associated fee to any PTO board member, or use a sealed envelope to place it in the PTO mailbox located in the school front office. Make sure the envelope is clearly marked "PEW PTO". 5. Once your membership form and payment are received and processed, you are officially a member of the PTO.
Frequently Asked Questions
1.I have a large family with more than one student enrolled at Phyllis E. Williams. Do I pay extra for each individual? No. The annual membership fee is $10 per family. Our goal is 100% participation, so there are no extra fees imposed on multiple PEW students or individuals that reside in your immediate family.
2. Does my membership require any type of committment? No. While we encourage members to be active in the organization, your membership does not require any committment. You can volunteer as little or as much as you like.
3.Can non-members participate in PEW PTO General Body meetings? Yes. You do not have to be a member to participate in a PEW PTO General Body Meeting. However, voting privileges are limited to members. Meetings are held about once a month. Click on the website "Calendar" for more information.
4.Can non-members volunteer for PEW PTO sponsored events? Absolutely! Please check our website calendar and the PEW PTO School Bulletin Board for the latest information about upcoming events and how to volunteer or participate. Information may also be disseminated with school take-home flyers and through school "Robo" calls.
5. Will I need to renew my membership every year? Yes. Your membership must be renewed each school year. You may sign up to become a member at any time.
